Recent Forum PostsForget about McCain & Obama -- What about Albright, Olson and Wolf?August 19, 2008 - 7:43am — Nancy HuddlestonWho needs national politics? We have a primary on Sept. 9 for Scott County Commissioner District 2, which includes south Savage, parts of Prior Lake, and other areas around Jordan, Elko and New Market. There are three capable candidates -- Tony Albright, Chris Olson and Tom Wolf. Who do you think is the best man for the job? (Hint -- if you've submitted a letter to the editor about this election, you can post your letter here, too!) Snow White, Cinderella arrested?August 15, 2008 - 9:28am — Tom SchardinWhat's going on? It's natural to complain when we get poor customer service, but when you get good customer service, do you offer praise? What about co-workers? Again, it's natural to point out mistakes or things that need correcting. But what about when they do a good job, are you as quick to compliment? As well, does the system of praise works both ways -- up and down? Supervisors are taught to offer praise as a way to motivate their workers, but how often does the supervisor get thanked or complimented on their work? What are your thoughts? Is making the Olympic team still a goal that young athletes aspire to, or are they too busy trying to make the pros? Voice your opinions here! Environmental Destruction Pending - Dan Patch TrailAugust 15, 2008 - 12:44pm — Woods-Wetlands ...Another land rezoning proposal will be before the Savage City Council soon. It's for the same 106 acre area of land known as the Dan Patch Trail Project, but the land owner and developer are going after developing it again and submitting another proposal to the Planning Commission at their meeting Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008 at the Savage City Hall. The Woods & Wetlands Alliance has worked for the past year to be sure the City of Savage, Red Angus Development and land owner, Karl Bohn, first looked into any areas they were required to preserve. WWA questioned the status of the wetlands, a fen-like area on the property, numerous wildlife and several possible indigenous burial mounds that the developer proposes to clear cut and bull doze.
