Environmental Destruction Pending - Dan Patch TrailAugust 15, 2008 - 12:44pm — Woods-Wetlands ...Another land rezoning proposal will be before the Savage City Council soon. It's for the same 106 acre area of land known as the Dan Patch Trail Project, but the land owner and developer are going after developing it again and submitting another proposal to the Planning Commission at their meeting Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008 at the Savage City Hall. The Woods & Wetlands Alliance has worked for the past year to be sure the City of Savage, Red Angus Development and land owner, Karl Bohn, first looked into any areas they were required to preserve. WWA questioned the status of the wetlands, a fen-like area on the property, numerous wildlife and several possible indigenous burial mounds that the developer proposes to clear cut and bull doze. Things you just can't believeAugust 12, 2008 - 3:24pm — Keighla SchmidtSometimes I don't believe what I'm reading, or hearing or seeing. I'm going to start posting them and hope to get some feedback.
Here's the most recent one: The little girl who was seen at the opening ceremonies for the Beijing Olympic games was apparently not the same little girl who was heard. First he basically says, he won't rule anything out.. “There is nothing I would take off the table,” then, basically 'Read my lips' no new taxes... to quote him: http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/07/mccain-on-taxes.html Wow. Where's the outrage. Top five things I learned in JulyAugust 1, 2008 - 9:15am — Keighla Schmidt1. Enjoying a bite at “The Taste” takes a bite out of my wallet. Imagining if Obama Had a McCain WeekJuly 15, 2008 - 12:15pm — SavageResidentThis is worth a peek. by Robert J. Elisberg Let's just imagine a moment. Let's just imagine that one day during the campaign, Barack Obama suddenly changed the actual facts about a central moment in his life, altering them to simply fit the city he was campaigning in. And let's just imagine that another time, Barack Obama was asked to explain one of his Senate votes on a major women's issue, but sat in silence until finally saying he didn't remember it. And then laughed that it was "delicate." The New Revolution: Revitalizing the Rational ImaginationJuly 10, 2008 - 4:58pm — JaneDevinAs a child, I had fantastic imaginary friends. By fantastic, I mean out of the ordinary – there were wise green girls from Mars, strong, black-eyed Amazons – and a single Dove woman, with gentle eyes and wings woven from branches. I was often called imaginative, but it wasn’t meant as a compliment. It was meant in a “reality-is-calling, get your head out of the clouds”, kind of way. It was meant to discourage me from believing in the impractical or impossible. Dog BlogJuly 9, 2008 - 12:47pm — Nancy HuddlestonWhat's your dog or cat been up to during these dog days of summer? Max, the black lab/border collie mix, enjoys swimming in the pool -- especially if his favorite Kong ball is tossed in.
