Police are investigating a report that a group of eight young adults harassed and then pulled a knife on a teenage woman in downtown Savage while she was walking with her baby last weekend.

The Savage Police Department issued 38 citations between March 8 and 14 and responded to 196 incidents between March 8 and 15. Some of the incidents included the following:

A 35-year-old Prior Lake woman faces criminal sexual conduct charges after admitting to police that she was involved in an ongoing sexual relationship with her son’s 15-year-old friend.

A Savage firefighter was one of two people hurt Tuesday morning (March 16) at an apartment fire at The Observatory Apartments in Burnsville.

During the fire operation, a ceiling collapsed on the Savage firefighter and also one from Lakeville, which resulted in minor and nonlife threatening injuries. They were both treated at the scene by Allina.

For the second consecutive year, 2009 saw a substantial increase in online crime complaints, according to the annual Internet Crime Report issued by the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI). Thos complaints have increased by more than 100,000 since 2005.

A 48-year-old man from Minneapolis has been charged by the Dakota County Attorney with two counts of felony assault in connection with an incident following a Burnsville Athletic Club (BAC) basketball game.

A 45-year-old man from Savage has been charged with third-degree assault after he allegedly punched his wife in the face and broke her nose.

The Savage Police Department issued 41 citations between March 1 and 7 and responded to 183 incidents between March 1 and 8. Some of the incidents included the following:

Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced this morning that Robin Johnson, 48, of Minneapolis, has been charged with two felony counts of assault and one count each of interfering with a 911 call and disorderly conduct in connection with an assault Feb. 13 on a director of the Burnsville Athletic Association’s (BAC) in-house boys basketball  program and a parent at a youth basketball game.
