Scott County Public Health offers weekly walk-in immunization clinics on Mondays and an additional “Back to School” immunization clinic on Wednesday, Aug. 20 from 4 to 7 p.m.

The Public Health office is located at 792 Canterbury Rd. S., Suite A-160, in Shakopee and offers walk-in immunization clinics every Monday afternoon from 1 to 5 p.m. No clinics are held on legal holidays.

The Southern Cruzers Car Club is having a “Summer Spectacular” car show, craft sale and swap meet on Saturday, Aug. 23 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Dakota County Fairgrounds in Farmington.

The Dan Patch American Legion Post #643, located at 12375 Princeton Ave., in downtown Savage, will host an old-fashioned all-you-can-eat sweet corn feed Saturday, Aug. 23 from noon until gone. The meal includes a giant pulled pork sandwich for $5. This is locally-grown corn and will be picked and shucked Saturday morning before the feed to ensure freshness.

The Scott County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility will be closed for the Labor Day Holiday Weekend on Saturday, August 30th. The facility will reopen on Wednesday, Sept 3, and resume the normal operational schedule of Wednesdays (12 noon to 6 pm) and Saturdays (8 am to 12 noon). The Shakopee Police Department invites youth ages 15 to 20 to come and check out Police Explorers during a “1st Nighter” event set for 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16 at Shakopee Police Department, 475 Gorman St.

This information night will show interested youth what it is that Explorers do, from learning about police and police scenarios to volunteer work, ride-alongs and participation in community events.
