Samantha Rayne Binetti

Samantha Binetti, 40, of Savage, died unexpectedly in a camping accident Monday, June 16, 2008.

Service was Friday, June 20, at 5 p.m. with visitation one hour before at Wooddale Church, Eden Prairie.

Katherine E. (Osuna) Guertin

Katherine E. (Osuna) Guertin, 93, of Savage, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 10, 2008.

Preceded in death by her husband, John E.; son, Anthony Orlando F.

Survived by children, Stephen R. (Joanne), Vincent R. (Katherine), Nina E. (Richard) Guertin-Marklund; grandchildren, Sarah, Ellen, John, Genevieve, Maria; eight great-grandchildren; many relatives and friends.

Memorial Mass is Wednesday, June 25, at 6 p.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church, 4625 West 125th Street, Savage. Visitation is prior to the service from 4-6 p.m. at the church. The family requests that memorials be given to local area food shelves in lieu of flowers.

Sherry Jane (Kohner) Sylvester

Sherry Jane Sylvester, 54, of Savage, passed away at her home on Friday, June 13, 2008 after a courageous battle with ALS.

Preceded in death by her parents, Chuck and LaVonne Kohner. Survived by husband, David; sons, Cody Sylvester and Tony Staska; brothers, Jeff, Steve and Dennis; sisters, Debbie and Julie; in-laws, Carmen and Arlene Sylvester and many other relatives and friends.

Special thanks to ALS and Fairview Hospice. Memorial service is 6 p.m., visitation 5 p.m., on Thursday, June 26, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4625 West 125th Street, Savage. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to MDA or ALS.

Dianne Marie Johnson

Dianne Johnson, 61, of Savage, passed away at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park on Saturday, June 14, 2008 due to complications of bypass surgery.Dianne JohnsonDianne Johnson

Dianne was born Aug. 28, 1946 in Minneapolis, to parents Lowell and Helga (Holt) Johnson.

A lifelong employee of Lockheed-Martin, Dianne retired in 2001 to enjoy the simple life and to spend time with her soul mate of 30 years, Howard Nissen, and to also spend time in their second home in Arizona.

She is loved and forever missed by her mother, Helga Johnson of Burnsville; soul mate, Howard Nissen of Savage; brothers, Don (Jeanni) Johnson, Dennis (Ramona) Johnson, Dorrian (Pat) Johnson; sisters, Jeannine (Bob Peterson) Johnson, Debe (Rick) Kot; nephews, Randall, David, Dennis Jr. and Rick; nieces, Denise, Darnel, Lisa, Jill and Kelsey; many greatnieces and nephews. Also, Howard’s family, who dearly loved Dianne.

A special thanks to Dianne’s friend, Joanne Skoglund, who stood by the family and Howard the full month Di was in the hospital.

The dedication of the nurses and doctors at Methodist Hospital, on the 3rd and Critical Care floors, will always be remembered.

A Celebration of Life Service was held Thursday, June 19, at 6:30 p.m. at Ballard–Sunder Funeral Chapel, Shakopee, with visitation on Thursday from 4:30 till 8 p.m.

Memorials are preferred to the Heart and Vascular Center Fund, Park Nicollet Foundation, 6550 Excelsior Boulevard, St. Louis Park, Minn. 55416.
