Natalie Samb of Savage and Gretchen Huhnkerkoch competed in the 37th annual Minnesota Women’s Golf Association Amateur Championship Aug. 11-13 at Edina Country Club.

Huhnerkoch competed in the championship flight and tied for 24th overall with a 54-hole total of 241. She shot a pair of 81s and a final-round 79 (par 72).

Samb was in the President’s flight and finished sixth overall shooting a 54-hole total of 246 (83-87-76).

Both Huhnerkoch and Samb also competed in the Minnesota Golf Association Junior Championships Aug. 5-6 at Marshall Golf Club.

Huhnerkoch was the overall winner, shooting a 76 and a 74 (par 72) to win by nine shots. Samb tied for fourth place, shooting a pair of 81s.

Huhnkerkoch and Samb are seniors at Burnsville High School.
